This is a list of what our users would like: - Seperate configurations for different break types. Eg. Ability to configure fixed times for tiny breaks, but not for big breaks.
- Please just keep the beautiful woman in workrave to illustrate the exercises; konqi exercising looks ugly. Why put an extra effort into making something good much worse?
- Daily limit similar to [Workrave]
- Calendar of past statistics similar to [Workrave]
- exercises during the breaks -- I'd suggest using the exercises from [Workrave], which is a GNOME-based RSI program. They're quite useful, entertaining, and Free Software too. Why reinvent the wheel? If anything, you guys could cooperate on building a shared library of exercises and perhaps sharing some code/ideas as well. -- random guest, who couldn't comment about this on Tom Alber's blog, because the captcha doesn't validate :)
- Ability to use screen saver/locked screen instead of image slide show
- Ability to use different actions for short breaks and long breaks, for example: screen lock for short breaks and dia show for long breaks
- Play a sound (a bell, for instance) when the break starts and play it again when the break ends. That way, you can close your eyes, go for a coffee, etc without looking at the screen.
- Provide a global hotkey for accessing the information such as time for next break, usage statistics (eventually add the next break time to the usage statistics)
- Add support for xinerama (two or more screens)
- Make loading of images multithreaded, because sometimes the timer doesn't count right, because of the long loading times of large images.
- keep track of activity for each input device device seperately. It would be useful for instance to differentiate between keyboard usage and mouse usage for the sake of statistics and even possibly for "break".
- Add graphical output for daily, monthly and yearly statistics like "PC-Zeit" for Windows does (http://www.baxbex.de/freeware.html)
- Add an (optional) signal to suggest eye-lid movement. According to a study by the university of Tübingen (Germany) the number of blinks reduces from 9.7 to 4.3 blinks per minute when working in front of a computer and thereby reducing the number of liquids on the eye. Test showed a reflex can be trained with a program signalling to blink more often. Here's a link to the news report (unfortunately German only write to misel at misel dot de when you want me to translate it) http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/62863 . While that is not the main scope of RSI Break it is somewhat similar. The program wants to keep the computer user healthy. So why not make the programme pop up a small eye near the system tray each 6 seconds ( - a random number).
- Make RSIBreak compliant with Workrave network feature.
- Put the url http://www.rsibreak.org/ in the about information.
